Comment by caprilfresh on August 7, 2008 at 6:14pm - I'm curious about the potential for Hawaii to establish an Environmental Risk Management Authority like New Zealand's (http://www.ermanz.govt.nz/about/index.html). It might serve to address not only things like the Superferry, but give Native Hawaiians authority to protect taro from genetic modification on the grounds that it is a cultural resource (as valuable as, say, Uluru is to the Australian Aboriginal people). Is this something we can pitch to Hooser?
