About Me:
I am a researcher, also am an LMT here, waiter, etc. My degree is in finance and economics. Have lived in Hawaii for a little more than a decade. I watch society and like to intervene where I see momentum and think I might help. I saw that in you all on Kauai in August and September of 2007. I believe you all on Kauai can and will change Kauai and the world for the better. Aloha, Brad

Sounds like they rotted in the ground. I would have to see the spot to know why they rotted. It happens.
The kids grew some nice carrots at Kula School.

Hi Brad,

Nice to hear from you on the phonemail this morning. I'm so glad everything is all-systems-go for Kauai. I was wondering... will the place you're renting in May be big enough? mary said it is traditionally rented to two people. But she said once the foliage comes down to reveal the breathtaking view, you'll love it.

about us - nice of you to say so - what you assess as the opportunities here. and i'd like to think that you are right - it does seem like we have, and there is further progress to be made.

There is a discussion going on over on topix.com about the article yesterday regarding the poll on whether the state is run for tourism more than for the residents. I commented there:

The interesting point is that with what is happening to global oil costs, Hawaii's visitor industry will be dramatically effected within the next few years. ***Every large hotel in the state should be looking to put as many solar panels on their roofs as possible.*** Regardless, the cost to visitors to come and stay here is quickly outpacing the demand for it. There is a big problem brewing here and meanwhile Lingle, the Legislature, and some of the County Councils are offering to "rearrange the deck chairs" to deal with it. If the leaders do not move quickly enough to deal with it, it will just mean that the market will adapt to less tourism, eventually residents will move away, people will learn how to do things like more gardening, and the state will get along with a lot lower resident and visitor population.

Aloha, Brad
